Trey is 11 Months!

His favorite toys: plastic containers

Trey likes:
Feeding himself
To chase and be chased
Pizza!
Pushing things around the room (especially chairs)
Giving hugs
Swimming!
Music
Opening and closing doors (again, and again, and again)

Mom let Trey drink from a cup...on his own
Trey can:
Walk
Run! (a little)
Wave "bye bye"
Put objects into boxes or bowls and take them out
Open cabinets
Throw a ball (although I'm not sure this is intentional)
Stand without pulling on objects
Get food out of his snack cup

Trey is becoming such a big boy!  He no longer uses a bottle; only sippy cups for this guy!  He has transitioned so easily off the bottle, and things are also going well weaning from nursing.  He doesn't seem to mind this "other" milk we give him once a day.  He loves it!

Sleeping isn't transitioning as well.  He has good and bad days, like everyone.  Some days he naps twice, some only once.  He is still waking between 4am and 5am to nurse.  There have been times he's made it until 6 or 6:30, but not very often (teething and illness hasn't make it easier).  My only worry is that he will continue to wake after he has weaned from nursing.  I may be in for yet another round of sleep training.  Oh, well...we made it through two times already, what's one more?!

We had a good Father's Day and Independence Day: first trip to Grant's Farm, first parade, and first fireworks display.  He is the only infant I know that was annoyed during fireworks because he was trying to SLEEP! He didn't get scared, but he sure couldn't get comfortable.  Gordon and I took turns holding him, but he was just not content.

His favorite part...the water!

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to browse my blog!  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Hopefully, I will be more punctual for next month's post.  Enjoy this awesome weather and God Bless!

Trey is 10 Months!

Trey's stats:
Length: 29 in
Weight: 18 lbs 13 oz
Trey has all 4 front teeth
Trey likes:

To eat whole foods: he would prefer to NOT have his food cut up-which makes for very messy meals!
To swim!
To be chased by Mom and Dad
To be tickled: feet, belly, back, nearly anywhere!
To climb on furniture and people...and Gibby
To read books with Mom and Dad
Bathtime

Trey's favorite sleeping position                               Tying to eat a whole bagel...by himself

Trey can:
Walk! He prefers walking to crawling, although he's still unsteady at times
Crawl up stairs
Use a sippy cup- and does this kid like water!

Diaper changes have been increasing difficult over the past couple of months.  I have become skilled in the art of diaper changes with a standing child.  If I find the perfect toy or food item, he may lie still long enough to get the new diaper off.

Trey visited the pool for the first time and he loved it!  He splashed, giggled, and even made swimming motions.  The trouble is, he liked it so much, Mom and Dad had to be very diligent about keeping his head above water!  No fear for this little guy right now!

Trey had a good Easter and Mother's Day!  He was very good on Easter, making a few stops that day.  The following week, he had an Easter egg hunt.  It took awhile to get used to the grass, and he would only pick up eggs that were set right in front of him, but he had fun being outside!

For Mother's Day, he and Gordon had a surprise for me in the morning!

Here are a few more pictures from the past month.  Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by!

Trey really likes to play with his chicken

First finger painting session--don't worry, it's just flour and water!

Cruise on all furniture, walls, anything he can get his little hands on
Walk behind his push toy
Stand unassisted for 1-3 sec
"Click" his tongue

Trey visits the zoo

He liked the giraffes

Everyday is different.  Some days Trey is happy, other days Trey is fussy.  He keeps us on our toes, and it is awesome!  I still can't imagine life without this little man in our lives.  As mentioned earlier, Trey is adventurous!  He has had 3 goose eggs on his little noggin'.  He falls over at least 3 times each day, but rarely cries.  He loves being outside, which has been great lately with our beautiful weather!  He likes going on runs with mom and falls asleep every time.  True to how he was early in life, he still enjoys bouncing on the exercise ball.

Thanks for reading this little snippet!  May God continue to bless your life and those around you!

Trey is 7 months!

Trey's new stats:
Length: 27.5"
Weight: 15lbs 14oz
He is eating a lot of solid food-just like daddy.
He has a tooth coming in!

Trey likes:
Carrots, sweet potatoes, avocados, bananas
He will eat other foods but he really likes the above foods
Walking (holding our hands)- he can crawl, but it's just not fast enough.
Standing holding onto things
Busy places and new places
Chewing on his spoons
Chewing on electronics (iPad, phones, remote)
When Dad makes him "fly" around the room, especially towards Mommy

mmm...Kale!                        Applesauce=sour!

Trey can:
Sit up and play until he wants to go somewhere else
Safely transition from sitting to crawling
Sometimes transition from crawling to sitting
Crawl
Pull to stand
Cruise the furniture (although not very well)
Put together consonants and vowels occasionally.
 "Ma" is the most frequent

We have officially stated baby proofing!  We can no longer leave him alone to go to another room.  He is too mobile!  I mistakenly left him in the middle of the living room one day while I ran to the restroom.  When I came out, Trey was across the room, happily chewing on one of Gibby's toys.  Trey is really starting to "talk" lately.  Gordon and Trey will go back and forth making noises, which just cracks Trey up!  Trey is a smiley baby and is laughing more and more each day.

Trey is a bit of an adventurer.  He doesn't scare easily.  He will try to stand and reach for things that are too far away.  While standing, he will also let go completely to use both hands to chew on a toy. This works out at times, but this has also caused a few rough falls.  I have a feeling we will have to keep a VERY close eye on him as his mobility increases.

Sleeping is much better!  He usually wakes once, to nurse, around 4am. Occasionally he will wake around 1am, but this isn't even once a week anymore.  He takes two to three naps a day.  We are so proud of all the progress he has made!

I am starting to miss the little baby phase.  I see smaller babies when we are out and about, and I miss the days of cuddling with a sleeping baby.  BUT, I am really enjoying Trey's phase of baby-hood at the moment.  He is interacting with us.  He knows us and shows affection to us.  It is so touching for Trey to see me across the room and smile at me.  He reaches out to me to hold him. I feel so loved by this little man.

First Big-Boy Bath
I cannot thank God enough for all of the blessings I have.  I have a wonderful husband who is supportive of me and challenges me to do things besides being Trey's mom.  I have a wonderful son who smiles, laughs, and brings me joy.  I have family who love Trey as their own son and are always willing to babysit or help when I need it.

Trey is 6 months!

It's been 6 months already!  Our little baby is no longer little! (Well, he's still little, but growing every day!)  We just had our 6 month check up.
Trey is...
27.25 in (75%)
15lbs 2oz (15%)
Still has a small head
We are going to try actual food today!
He is still teething...but no progress on teeth coming in

Trey likes:
Eating Cereal
Putting everything in his mouth...especially cell phones and the iPad.
His jumparoo- he continues to jump even after we take him out of it!
When mom and dad sing to him.
All new places- the busier the better!
His friends from Bible Study.

Trey can:
Sit up for extended periods of time once placed in the position.
Roll...any direction he wants.
Get up on all 4's and kind of scoot...not exactly crawl yet, but he's close!
Hold onto a stable object and stand without help for short periods of time.
Walk while his arms are held onto.
Reach and grab anything he wants (even Gibby's face)

Trey is already a ladies man.  Everywhere we go, he is truly loved.  The girls that volunteer in the nursery at church and in the daycare at the gym love it when Trey stops by.  He is a great baby to babysit because he is a perfect angel when mom and dad aren't around.  He is generally a happy baby.  Of course, he prefers to play with others, but can entertain himself for up to 20 minutes!  He is taking 2-3 naps a day.  We always try for 3, but sometimes he just doesn't go to sleep.  He is sleeping better at night, waking once or twice, with a couple nights a week that he still wakes every one to two hours.  That's progress!

He is definitely the light of our lives.  We can't imagine life without this little guy.  Even though mom and dad are sleep deprived, we wouldn't change a thing.  He makes us smile just by watching him.  He is developing a personality and we are so excited to see who our little man becomes.  We have been told many times that this stage will not last long, and we are seeing just how true that is!  For whatever reason God has blessed our family and we are so thankful to be able to call Trey our son!
